Dr. Leonard

Michael J. Leonard, D.D.S. grew up in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota and graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1976, St. John's University in 1980 with a B.A. in Natural Science & University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1983 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Leonard worked as an associate dentist in Lacrosse, WI from 1983-1985. He then opened his existing practice in Chanhassen MN in 1985. Dr. Leonard is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and American Association of Functional Orthodontics. Dr. Leonard is also a member of the Chanhassen Rotary Club, Chanhassen Chamber of Commerce and St. Hubert's Church. He enjoys hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, mission work in Chimbote, Peru and spending time with family.

Dr. Swingdorf

Aaron B. Swingdorf, D.D.S. grew up in Inver Grove Heights, and graduated from Simley High School in 2002. His dad and brother are both dentists, and his mother is a dental hygienist. Aaron received his BA in biology from Concordia College Moorhead in 2006, and his DDS from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2011. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the Minneapolis Dental District, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Aaron enjoys building relationships with patients, and helping them get back to pain-free living. He likes to see the ripple effect his team creates. If you change a patient's smile, it changes their confidence, and changes their life. Outside of the office, Aaron enjoys fishing, hunting, water sports, and spending time with his family.

Our Staff

Darlene completed her dental hygiene training at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She has furthered her education completing classes in nitrous oxide and local anesthesia. She has been with Chanhassen Family Dentistry since 1995. Darlene enjoys the wonderful relationships she has established with her patients over the years. Her hobbies include gardening, going to her cabin and spending time with her family.

Jessie completed her training at Lakeland Academy in 1996 and advanced training in Expanded Functions at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2007. This program allows her to place certain restorations and perform other advanced duties. Jessie is also certified in the delivery and monitoring of nitrous oxide. She has worked 14.5 years with Dr. Leonard and enjoys working in a fast-paced and technologically advanced office. In her free time, she enjoys camping, bowling, quilting and spending time with her family.

Deb earned her degree in dental hygiene at Normandale Community College in 1996. She has taken advanced training in the delivery and monitoring of nitrous oxide and local anesthesia. She has worked with Dr. Leonard for 13 years. She enjoys the diversity in our patient population and the state-of-the-art dental technology in the office. Away from the office, she enjoys traveling, knitting and reading.

Jolanta is originally from Poland and moved to the US. In 1989. She is a licensed dental hygienist, and trained at Normandale Community College, where she received training in nitrous oxide and local anesthesia. She has worked with Dr. Leonard ever since her graduation in 2000. She enjoys the great atmosphere at Chanhassen Family Dentistry and the relationships she has with her patients. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her husband.

Angie has worked with Dr. Leonard since 2002. She enjoys helping with treatment consultations and making the office run smoothly. In her free time, Angie’s interests include traveling, shopping, and rollerblading.

Sarah completed her training at Hennepin Technical College in 2001. She has also completed advanced training in nitrous oxide administration. Sarah has worked in the practice for 8 years and enjoys the variety of procedures she assists with. She also strives to provide excellent care to the patients. Her hobbies include singing, working out and spending time with her family.

Tracy has worked at Chanhassen Family Dentistry for 7 years. She helps the office run orderly and efficiently. She enjoys shopping, bowling and being mommy to Spike, her 5 year old chihuahua.

Jessi completed her Dental Assisting training at South Central Community College in Mankato in 1996. She has taken advanced courses in Nitrous oxide administration. She has been with Chanhassen Family Dentistry as a doctors' assistant since 2009. Jessi enjoys helping to deliver gentle care to patients. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

Cerisa earned her degree in Dental Assisting from Dakota County Technical College in 2012. She interned at Chanhassen Family Dentistry during the summer of 2012, and began full time employment here in January 2013. Cerisa loves delivering quality care to our patients. She also enjoys cooking, biking, shopping and spending time with friends and family.
